Next up for staff introductions is Abby Caspersen! Put on your listening ears class, because our friend Abby has a degree in elementary education and isn’t afraid to use it!
Role: Outdoor Education Specialist
Hometown: Fredericksburg, Virginia
University: Colorado University, Boulder #GoBuffs
Abby grew up in a cozy little town outside Fredericksburg, Virginia, surrounded by woods. She and her sister spent countless hours in their backyard treehouse, built by their dad, where Abby discovered her love for nature. After graduating from CU Boulder with a degree in Elementary Education and a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education Endorsement, Abby packed up her stuff and headed to Montana to start her first seasonal job at Hungry Horse Dam. When she’s not working, you can find Abby skiing, hiking, jamming to live music, and binge-watching Parks and Rec. She’s excited to combine her passion for nature and her education background at Glacier Institute, hoping to make visitors fall in love with Glacier National Park just like she did. Abby’s other interests include left-handedness, golf, cooking, and painting.
Abby reminds us of our extremely kind, knowledgeable kindergarten teachers, and brings a calming, encouraging vibe to our team. Her quiet kindness makes her a hit with our more shy kiddos and staff members alike. She’s also got some stellar dance moves up her sleeve! Next time you see Abby, be sure to ask her to show you her “bull trout” dance.
