Join us for an educational evening hike to Hidden Lake Overlook in Glacier National Park with one of our Outdoor Education Specialists as your guide. As we travel along the Going-to-the-Sun Road, you’ll learn about the park’s fascinating geology and the essential role fire ecology plays in sustaining wildlife habitats.
At Logan Pass, we’ll embark on a scenic hike through alpine meadows to Hidden Lake, where we’ll discuss high-altitude adaptations, bear safety, and the principles of environmental stewardship. With stunning mountain views and insightful commentary, this tour offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and educational exploration.
Meeting Place: 7450 HWY 2 East, Columbia Falls, MT 59912
Food: Please bring a trail meal, plenty of water and snacks for the evening.
Physical Requirements: Total Distance: up to 3 miles / Total elevation gain: 550 feet
Park Entrance Fees: Participants are responsible for purchasing their park entry passes prior to the course. These can be purchased online at: https://www.recreation.gov/sitepass/74280.
Equipment: Most importantly are comfortable hiking shoes, at least 1-2 liter water bottle, backpack, rain gear, hat, and sunscreen. Weather can be varied, especially at the varying elevations of Logan Pass, so please be prepared with appropriate clothing, especially warm layers for potential snow and high winds. Binoculars are very useful, but optional, as well as field guides that interest you.
