The Big Creek Outdoor Education Center, a historic Flathead National Forest Ranger Station, is located along the Wild and Scenic North Fork of the Flathead River adjacent to Glacier National Park, a twenty-minute drive from West Glacier and twenty miles north of Columbia Falls. Sitting at the confluence of Big Creek and the North Fork of the Flathead River, our Big Creek Outdoor Education Center is a full-service outdoor educational facility.
The Big Creek campus includes two bunkhouses with bathrooms, a main dining hall (which can accommodate up to forty people), a meeting room, a large classroom, a twenty-foot tepee and additional teaching space. Big Creek is off-the-grid and relies on solar power for the summer months.

School Field Trip Groups
Finding a safe, wholesome, educational experience for your students in the outdoors can be difficult. Your students deserve the same kind of amazing camp experience you had but they are getting harder and harder to find.
We’ve been bringing kids to Big Creek since 1988 and creating memories that have shaped many kids’ perception of the natural world. Your students will leave with a new respect for the outdoors and an itch to come back!
Summer Camp Experience
Your kids will thank you later for their quintessential summer camp experience. Our summer camps provide opportunities for kids to indulge themselves in the outdoors by hiking, exploring, learning basic wilderness skills, and much more.
Our youth summer camps are offered to a wide range of kids aged from 7-16. Glacier Institute summer camps cover a range of topics like Survival Skills, Intro to Fly Fishing, Little / Boys / Girls Naturalist, and more!
