Bill Dakin is a Columbia Falls native and amateur local historian. With degrees in American history and anthropology, his perspective on local history is woven with regional and national events. He worked on the road crew in Glacier Park 1975-88. He was one of the Park’s researchers for the history and construction of the Going-To-The- Sun Road, and a speaker for both the 50 th and the 75 th anniversary ceremonies . His narrated slide program on the famed road’s conception and construction will be presented at the Glacier Institutes’ GTTSR History course on August 9th.
