Alex Baysinger

Alex is originally from Rockledge, Florida. As a child in a military family, she moved around a bit but spent most of her life near the sunny beaches of Florida. There she worked as an ocean rescue lifeguard for five years and volunteered at a therapeutic horseback riding facility, where she first discovered her passion for teaching. She later pursued both her undergraduate and master’s degrees in Special Education at Florida State University. While in college, she also worked as an assistant horse wrangler at a summer camp near Yosemite. After graduating, she became a special education teacher for kindergarten and first grades. Having spent that summer in California, she realized she was drawn to the mountains, which led her to the Glacier Institute.
