Camp Details
Join us for an immersive summer STEAM camp exploring the science, history, and cultural significance of fire ecology in Glacier National Park. In partnership with the Glacier National Park, Glacier National Park Conservancy, and Glacier Institute, campers will investigate how fire shapes forest ecosystems, wildlife habitat, and landscape resilience in the Northern Rockies.
Participants will meet with fire management professionals to learn how prescribed burns, wildfire response, and fuel reduction projects are planned and implemented. We will also explore Indigenous fire stewardship and the cultural relationships between people and fire that have influenced these landscapes for generations.
Through hands-on field exploration of historic burn scars and regenerating forests, students will observe firsthand how fire transforms ecosystems over time. This camp encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and hopes to create a deeper understanding of fire as both a natural process and a powerful management tool in Glacier’s dynamic environment."

We are currently soliciting applications for this amazing experience. We are looking for a diverse pool of candidates from the regional area and across Montana. Applicants from other states may apply, but preference will be given to Montana residents. We envision this camp as engaging, full of learning, and fun, and hope to recruit participants interested in STEAM-related fields.
