Winter Bird Walk
January 12, 2021 * February 9, 2021
As the snow arrives in Northwest Montana each year, many of our avian species migrate to warmer climes to avoid the harsh challenges of winter. However, some birds remain as year-round residents in Montana, and we even receive some arctic migrants who have decided to make Montana their wintering grounds. In this monthly recurring bird walk, we will discuss some of the incredible adaptations that enable these wintering birds to survive our extreme seasonal conditions as we, ourselves, witness how the landscape changes throughout the winter.
