Fall Day Hike – Avalanche Lake
8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Join us during fall on one of the most popular hikes in Glacier National Park! After traveling past the gorgeous Lake McDonald, we will begin our educational hike at the lush Trail of the Cedars trailhead. This boardwalk portion winds through an ancient forest, thick with western red cedars and western hemlocks. We will witness the incredible colors from the changing aspens, cottonwoods, and Rocky Mountain maples. We will then continue climbing along the Avalanche Lake trail, getting a chance to marvel at avalanche blowdown, massive glacial erratics, and a glacier-fed cirque basin that leaves every hiker misty-eyed. This day program will provide in-depth education on wildlife, geology, and ecology.
