Demers Ridge Snowshoe Hike
December 15, 2020 *January 19, 2021 * February 16, 2021
A hidden gem in the Whitefish Range, Demers Ridge overlooks the western fringes of Glacier National Park. Sculpted by the flames of the 2001 Moose Fire, we will hike through a forest of lodgepole pine while discussing the implications of warm-season fires on cold-season phenomena. We will also cover winter adaptations of some of the plants and animals that reside in the North Fork Valley year-round as we hike through prime mountain lion and bear habitat. This hike will be hosted monthly, so join us throughout the winter to see how the North Fork changes throughout the season!
Hiking Level: Up to 4 miles round trip, 2000 feet elevation gain
