Leave No Trace Principles

Garrett and Anthony teach us the seven Leave No Trace principles before we head out for a day hike in Glacier National Park. The Glacier Institute did not create these principles or the hand signals used to help teach them, but we use them daily in our guided hikes, camps and courses here in northwest Montana!

There are seven leave no Trace principles that will help. You know how to be out on the trails responsibly. Number one, know before you go right down a plan. Number two, always walk on durable surfaces. Number three, always dispose of waste including human waste properly. Number four, take only pictures and not rocks, sticks, and antlers. Number five, only build campfires on designated spots and durable surfaces. Number six, always respect wildlife and keep a good distance. Yeah, and lastly number seven, be courteous to other hikers.
