A Big Thank You to Kalispell Cabela’s for Supporting Our Youth Fly Fishing Camps!

We’re thrilled to give a massive shoutout to the incredible team at Kalispell Cabela’s. They’ve hooked us with their incredible generosity and commitment to our community. With their recent donation of fly fishing gear, our youth fly fishing camps are going to be a total catch!

There are several camps and courses that will benefit immensely from Cabela’s gear donation, but we want to tell you about our Fly Fishing Summer Youth Camps. These overnight camps are designed for young anglers aged 9-14 who want to dive headfirst into the world of fly fishing while immersing themselves in the beauty of nature. It’ll be hard for your campers to leave without being totally hooked!

Our expert instructors will guide campers through all of the angling essentials—casting techniques, reading the water, and even identifying those sneaky aquatic insects. Thanks to Cabela’s, our campers will have access to top-of-the-line gear, including rods, reels, lines, and flies. Talk about reeling in the best of the best!

These camps are more than just a day by the water—it’s a chance for kids to bait their curiosity and tackle new challenges. Patience, perseverance, and problem-solving techniques are just a few of the skills that are gained when learning something new. Plus, they’ll develop a deep appreciation for nature and may even want to be part of protecting it one day

One of our core values at the Glacier Institute is having strong partnerships within our community. We couldn’t be more excited and proud to partner with our local Kalispell Cabela’s store to help inspire a new generation of fly-fishing enthusiasts here in the Flathead Valley. Making the outdoors and an iconic Montanan pastime accessible to kids takes a team effort and we’re thrilled to have the folks at Cabela’s joining in on the mission!
